It has been confirmed that Patrick Dempsey will be reprising his role as Dr. Mcdreamy for the last time in season 8 and after that he is done. His contract will be over and he will move on to bigger and better things. It is also rumored that Ellen Pompeo plans to leave after season 8 when her contract ends.
