hey

New Post

double life new chapter.... sorry for taking so long

Mitch paces up and down the halls of the hospital hopelessly. He is waiting for his memories to literally smack him right in the face. The doctors are still hopeful but not as enthusiastic anymore about his recovery. As each day passes they are becoming more certain he will never regain his memory. In some ways this is good. He can start over and make a new life for himself. In most ways this is horrible news. He doesn't remember his family, friends, job, or what other things made him happy, or even what his favorite ice cream flavor was. He feels like he was dumped into someone's body and has no clue how to live in it. The only way he can share his feelings is through writing, most of his stories involve a lot of action and usually have a depressing thought. Even though his wife told him he was an accountant he has a way with writing that is amazing. It calms and relaxs him to write in a way nothing else can, not even people. He wonders what will come next and how he is going to survive without his memory. He is also curious about his short term memory. He had a big blow to the head during the accident that caused severe brain damage and he is extremely lucky to be alive. Sometimes the days are a huge blur and he forgets things that he just thought about. The doctors don't think much of it, but he is concerned and fearing that he will not have a good short term memory either. What is the point of living without being able to wake up and remember your life? In his opinion, if he doesn't get better soon, he has no reason at all to live and why should he have to?
