Double Life New Chapter

The sun comes up in what seems like a blink of an eye. He gazes at Lana who is making her usual quiet snore and then he pokes her. She is a light sleeper so she jerks up from bed and asks "Ok what do you want to talk about?" He hesistates "Well I have um... something important to tell you. You know that show Big Love you like to watch on HBO? I'm like him, I have two wives and two families." She looks at him like he is insane and answers "What? Yeah right, what was it you really wanted to tell me?" There is an awkward silence and then she realizes it. She whispers "It's true isn't it." Mitch stares at his wife as she lie there awake in utter silence pondering this. He begins to think she might be ok with it but he doesn't know she is holding back tears. He sees them start to run down her cheeks and then he feels a hard thump on his arm, hears the door slam loudly and he is alone. He closes his eyes in pain from the force she hit him with and tries to recouperate. Now she knows, it feels weird to him not to have this secret hanging over his head anymore. Mitch feels this sense of relief and calmess knowing he doesn't have to hold it in anymore. It is like he was holding his breath for five long years and now he gets to have oxygen fill his lungs again for the first time. Then it hits him. He lost her. Knowing Lana so well he knew there was no hope whatsoever and the truth ruined his life. Well one of them anyway. He feels his heart aching and he longs to go and talk to her but he knows she needs time. He managed to get through it. But now he has to do it all over again to a different wife, soulmate, and half of his essence. He begins to brace himself for Tiffany's reaction knowing it will be different but similar in one way, she won't be able to handle it. That he is sure of.
